The Earl Reum Award is presented annually at the National Conference on Student Activities/NAWD. Like it's namesake, this award honors applicants for years and years of work with adults.
Since Earl was a "trainer of trainers," this award recognizes those who train advisers who then go back to their schools, regions or states to create better programs for the students they serve.
Applications must be completed and returned to Genel by September 1. Nominees may be self nominated or nominated by others, but participation by the applicant is necessary to complete the application. Applicants should have attended at least one NAWD/NCSA conference before applying for the award, and the person selected to receive regional and the national award needs to be in attendance at the conference.
A Regional Award winner is selected from each of the eight regions in the United States. Those eight regional winners receive a plaque provided by Herff Jones. From those reginal winners, a national award winner is selected. The national winner receives a plaque and an Earl Reum Award ring provided by Herff Jones. They also receive a cash award. Complete information and applications are available at the NAWD website, www.nawd.com/reumaward/honornext.html. Applications must be submitted electronically and mailed, and must include a picture.
